Employment Opportunities at Youth, Rights & Justice

Summer Law Clerk Positions, May-August 2018

Law clerk position announcement

Youth, Rights & Justice will host 2-3 law clerks for the summer of 2018.  Law clerks will provide research and writing assistance to attorneys in a variety of juvenile delinquency and dependency cases.  Clerks will also be a part of the detention alternatives program, meeting with delinquency clients at the beginning of a case and advocating for them. Opportunities also exist for larger research projects, client contact, possible court appearances and other advocacy efforts.

Candidates must have excellent research and writing skills, an interest in working directly with people, and interest or experience in juvenile or public interest law.

These are unpaid positions. Most students arrange their own funding through law school stipends.  Work study positions may be arranged. Please notify YRJ if you are interested in arranging a work study position through your law school.

If you wish to be considered for a summer clerkship, please submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample and transcript to Julie Sutton via email. Interested candidates should submit applications by January 22, 2018.
